Races
Planned:
I need to find a January race, then a February one. Maybe I can find one in Florida when I visit in February. Imma look right now.
Completed:
9. Christopher Martin's Christmas Run for the Children 12/11/11 5K - official time: 24:39, pace: 8:14 I didn't really have a goal time or pace in mind. I just knew that I wanted to do better than my previous 5K times and run the race "hard". I accomplished both of those tasks and nearly threw up at the finish line. This could be because of the cold air that my lungs aren't used to breathing or possibly the lack of water I drank before the race.
11/24/11
4.748 miles - official time: 46:33, pace: 9:49
My goal for this race was to run with a pace in the 9 minute zone and I'm happy to say that I accomplished it! There were too many people! 15,000 people is simply too many for the width of the streets we ran on. I wish that I could have pushed myself to run this race harder but the streets were just too crowded. I probably won't run this again but if I do, I won't be registering. I'm considering running in the Goshen Turkey Trot next year instead.
7. Apple Harvest Festival Road Race
10/2/11
5K - official time: 00:28:09, runkeeper time: 00:27:43, Pace (Gun time): 9:04
Met my goal of completing the race in the 28 minute range.
I was very dissapointed that the race didn't have a "net time" measurement.
6. Military Heroes Adventure Race
9/11/11
Finished, don't remember the time. Pretty easty obstacles. 4.1 miles.
5. Spartan Beast Race (dear god)
8/6/11
12 Miles
Survived – 06:30:00 hrs
7/17/11
00:29:26 (met my goal of under 30), Pace: 10:03
3. Litchfield Hills Road Race (7.1 mi)
6/12/11
Time: 01:18:18, Pace: 11:02
For whatever reason I thought this race was a 10K, turns out it was actually a bit over 7 miles. My initial goal (when I thought it was a 10K) was to finish in 70 minutes, which is just about a 11.5 minutes per mile pace. My time ended up being 78 minutes for a pace of 10.9 minutes per mile. I’m happy to say that I did a little better than I set out to do.
2/20/11
00:33:04 (was hoping to do it under 37), Pace: 10:39
1st race ever
